Frequently Asked Questions
- Why Choose Me?
-
Because I care.
You and your baby are my number one priority! I am extremely patient and will take however much time your baby needs to settle into a pose. I do not rush through. My studio is kept very warm which helps keep baby nice and sleepy. Even my posing table is heated and has soothing vibrations. I also have noise machines to mimic the womb. It’s so warm and peaceful you might even fall asleep. Well, most dad’s do. LOL I know my equipment. I can produce quality results every time. My images are in focus and they are exposed correctly. I hand edit each image down to every last detail and little baby flake. I am well self-trained in photoshop and can provide you with beautiful composites of things that just don’t occur in real life, like your baby on an elephant! I custom design the session around you. Sometimes I even custom make things for a specific session. I choose colors and props that go with your home decor or nursery, so you can hang prints on your wall and have them blend in beautifully with your home. I know newborn safety. I have been studying newborn photography for many years and know what is safe for baby and what is not. I would never put your baby in a compromising position. If you see an image of a baby in a position they would not naturally be in it's probably a composite.
- When Should I Schedule?
-
If you are pregnant now is a good time to schedule your newborn session. We schedule newborn sessions for your due date. I would then be added to the list of people to call from the hospital when your little one arrives. We will then set a permanent date for your session. For all baby and child sessions, I request that you schedule at least two weeks in advance. I am a mom just like you and it is nice to have a heads up about a session. Maternity sessions are done in your last trimester. We want you to have a nice round belly. I highly recommend having your photos taken before you are in your ninth month; sometimes babies come early and you wouldn't want to miss your chance for photos. Plus you won't be too uncomfortable yet.
- What is the Reveal and Ordering Session?
-
An ordering session is when we will meet after we have taken your photos. This usually happens about 2-3 weeks after your photo session. It is when you will see your images for the first time and select what you want to purchase. Prices are listed online for your convenience. I suggest you and any other decision-makers take a look and have an idea of what you want to purchase coming into your ordering session. You will be expected to place an order at this meeting. If you are unsure of what you want to purchase you can book a second ordering session for a $50 fee. What happens at this session? We will meet and look at your images for the first time. Watch a slide show of your images. We will sort through them and narrow them down to the ones you would like to purchase. We will talk about products and look at samples. You will place your order with me and make your payment. After your ordering session, you will have access to your online gallery. Any and all decision-makers need to be present at the ordering session. If grandma wants to come she is welcome. I limit the number of people at the ordering session to six. Please do not bring your children with you, newborns are allowed, but I find that young children get bored easily and will distract you from the task at hand.
